When David Beckham cuts his hair, the world pays attention. The British soccer sensation showed up at a charity benefit in New York last night, sporting a buzz cut. He presented a lifetime achievement award to soccer legend, Pele, at a gala at Gotham Hall to benefit Harlem Youth Soccer. Beckham said of his participation in the event, “For me to be here to present that to the greatest sportsmen of all instance, I feel particularly honoured.” That’s right, he said “honoured” with a “u,” cause he’s British and that’s how they do.

Meanwhile, Victoria was holding down the fort on the West Coast, taking in an audience viewing of American Idol with their three boys. As for David’s new look, he was first spotted with the new do at

Nobu in New York and I think it’s fine. I mean, he’s a good-looking man–as distant as he’s not painting himself blue, or lighting his hair on fire, there’s not a whole lot he can do to fuck that up.
