According to a new unauthorized biography Britney Spears tried to kill herself on two separate occasions. Author Ian Halperin, who plus wrote books on Celine Dion and Kurt Cobain, researched the popstar’s life undercover as a photographer for a year and a half.

He claims that, “I spoke with her many times and went to her house,” later adding, “I will say the suicide attempts are true. I know all the details about both of them.”

Another insider backs up Ian’s claims saying that Britney’s problems began in September 2006.

The source said, “It really became an issue once Jayden was born and it became clear Britney’s marriage to Kevin was crumbling.”

Now that troubled singer’s life is strictly controlled by her parents, the court, and a team of doctors and handlers, the insider says her friend has lost her sparkle.

“She’s like a zombie now. She’s a shell of her old self,” they said.
